I started UCDesign Pty Ltd in 1997 and over the next 8 years UCDesign gained an enviable reputation in the Human Factors and Usability industry in Australia. As Managing Director I was responsible for contracts, finances, IT infrastructure, and I also completed consulting and training roles when required. Consulting clients included the Department of Defence and Sensis.

I worked for the School of Business and Information Systems in the Department of Information Studies at Swinburne Unii (TAFE). Units taught in this role encompassed Diploma level studies covering a wide range of information technology units. Major teaching areas included operating systems, systems analysis and design and computer programming.

Insurance: In this position I worked with a small team of technical writers and was responsible for development of user documentation. A major project undertaken involved the compilation of on-line help for an application used by Underwriters and Insurance Brokers in Australia and the United States.

Health Insurance (Statutory Body):

As an Executive Officer I was responsible for the operation, development and technical maintenance of all computer file systems in the branch and associated links to the Department of Veterans Affairs. I was also the liaison officer between computer systems personnel and the branch while new versions of these systems were under development.

This position included the supervision of staff, maintaining close contact with middle management internallly, and external organisations such as the Department of Veterans' Affairs, Department of Community Services and Health and Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade.
